Don't come to art school and major in photography if you think photography is simply about aiming a camera and taking a technically precise photograph. If you think that's all it is, then get the fuck out.

It is very simple to light well, get a beautiful model, aim well, and click your finger down.

It's an entirely different thing to recreate an emotion you either felt at the time of shooting, or wanted to convey from the image, and do THAT well.

Is art just a pretty picture?

Hell no.

Art is one of the most primitive, most universal ways of chanelling a greater message from somewhere else into a form that other humans con comprehend and feel as well.
Like music, we are all created from it, always feel it.

There is nothing technical about that.
